Barbacoa

Barbacoa sits on the edge of Parkcenter Pond and is the closest thing Boise has to a destination dinner restaurant for big-occasion meals. The space is dim, art-heavy, and theatrical — tableside flambé, a wood-fired grill running the room, and a menu of hardwood-fire steaks, seafood, and a deep South American wine list. For a milestone birthday — 40th, 50th, anniversary dinner with extended family — it sets a tone that a chain steakhouse can't.

Two private dining rooms accommodate parties from roughly twelve up to sixty, with the larger room able to host the full 60-cover seated dinner. The events team builds custom prix-fixe menus around the host's budget; a la carte ordering is also available for smaller bookings. Outside cake is welcome. The lake-view patio comes into play on warm-weather evenings. Reservations for private rooms run four to six weeks ahead on prime weekends; the maître d's office handles bookings directly.
